ISDN AND PSTN ARE GOING OUT OF SERVICE - WHAT TO DO

Yes, the good old PSTN copper lines and the ISDN delivered on Copper (ISDN 10/20/30 and ISDN 2 – ON RAMP) are all going to be removed in the near future, with some services already removed in some areas.

You should act now and take steps to switch to SIP lines and upgrade your  systems so you are not cought at the last minute before they are they are turned off for good.

Better to plan ahead, over being caught out at the last minute. We are here to help and make the transition smooth and easy.

What services will be switched off?

ISDN is a digital network technology that carries voice and data services over the public switched telephone network.

Carriers (Telstra, Optus, Primus…..) will have ceased sales of the ISDN2, ISDN10/20/30, products on 30th June 2018. The a final disconnection date expected by 2022 which is when these products will no longer exist.

Some areas have already been disconnected with the transition to NBN, so espically if you have NBN available in your area, you need to get your PSTN and ISDN converted ASAP, as you might be next.

Although suffitient warning should be provided from your carrier – they have been cases of a general letter received and ignored – followed by unexpected ceasing of the service, which means lost numbers and weeks to reinstate service on new services, eg . SIP (Session Initiated Protocol) or other suitable service. Dont risk it, get onto now.
